As Senior Product Developer you will be responsible for managing the range from design concept to bulk production across all product areas, ensuring critical path and margin targets are met.
The role involves working closely with the technical team to ensure quality standards are met by both factories and mills. The brand is a well-known luxury label selling worldwide with a dedicated customer following.
Essential Skills
* Proven track record working in Men’s & Women’s High-end or Luxury Fashion.
* Proven track record in Product Development essential with the
* Strong knowledge of garment construction and fittings.
* Excellent understanding of the overall product development process.
* Confident in presenting ranges.
* Excellent eye for detail.
* Proficient in MS Office.
* Team player with excellent all round communication skills.
RESPONSABILITATI / BENEFICII:
Main responsibilities
Product Development
* Ensure that the range is developed in line with the Designers brief.
* Manage the critical path with the Technical Manager.
* Manage any product changes that may affect timing or costs.
* Manage timely delivery of samples for Press, Marketing, Franchise and Wholesale teams.
* Oversee labels and trims across all product development areas.
Quality Control
* Maintain and improve product quality whilst maintaining margin.
* Work with the technical team to standardise fit across Men’s and Women’s.
Range Presentation
* Present the range to the business.
* Develop product glossary.
* Oversee organisation and presentation of the range and training to the stores through various media.
* Work with the web team to ensure all product information on the website is accurate and meets with time lines.
Sourcing
* Analyse and manage supplier capabilities and limitations to ensure a sound production model.
* Oversee tech packs in conjunction with the design team adopting a ‘right first time’ approach.
* Ensure all fabric information is correct and available for the timely booking of fabric.
* Travel to production sites to brief suppliers and oversee development when required.
* Ensure factories are aware of product requirements, order deadlines and ways of improving costs and delivery of product.
Systems
* Create effective administrative systems across all product development areas to ensure accurate records are maintained.
* Ensure smooth running of weekly production and development workflow and critical path meetings.
Commercial Control
* Understand cost and margin implications of fabric and garment development and accessories.
* Ensure fabric and garment developments support and improve departmental margins.
* Work with merchandising team to ensure margin targets are met.
Staff Management
* Manage, monitor and develop Product Development Assistants.
* Create development plans for each person within the team.
* Create a succession plan for each role.
