Supports the 2D and 3D garment manufacturing process for innovative garment prototypes in collaboration with the Creation Centre teams (Design, Marketing, Product Operations) in all relevant processes end-to-end from ideation to cutting and tailoring to manufacturing. Creates virtual and physical samples (prototypes) taking into account feasibility for production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Development and grading of innovative and fit-critical model cuts in cooperation with x-functional partners.
- Creation of pattern layouts taking into account internal cutting rules and, if necessary, review according to cost-relevant aspects.
- Sewing of sample patterns and mock-ups according to specifications from design, pattern and development teams.
- Advise and train the x-functional teams in the process of pattern making and sewing.
- Close cooperation and communication with the respective interfaces in all matters of sewing, processing and finishing (printing, embroidery, etc.).
- Testing new garment constructions for quality, production capability in collaboration with the product test, quality team and x-functional teams.
- Support direct line managers in the production of training materials, manuals and budget plans.
- Incorporate 3D technologies where applicable and relevant to the development process.
- Mentor and coach other team members.

- Knowledge of pattern making and pattern grading with the ability to provide effective and cost efficient pattern solutions.
- Understanding of garment construction, material construction and properties in relation to fit.
- Understanding of the relationship between pattern, material and manufacturing.
- Is familiar with the basics of cutting.
- Is able to interpret and evaluate designs at model level in terms of pattern execution/technique.
- Team player/communicator with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects with varying deadlines
- Ability to work with diverse groups, motivate or guide others and demonstrated problem solving and innovation skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Advanced knowledge of 3D applications (V-Stitcher, Clo3D)
- Advanced knowledge of Gerber or similar 2D CAD applications
- Advanced IT skills (Illustrator, MS Office)
- Training as a tailor or industrial garment maker ("journeyman" training) or 3-4 years of sewing experience.
- Completed technical school/fashion school training as a garment technician, garment engineer, pattern, design and production modeler/director, master tailor or studies in pattern construction and grading.
- Ideally 1-2 years of relevant work experience in the apparel industry in a comparable role.
