PURPOSE & OVERALL RELEVANCE FOR THE ORGANISATION
Support Innovation design, development and project management apparel with creation of garments on highest quality level for handover to all BU ́s, which could be concept garments, prototypes and production pieces for key athletes and consumers. Proactively identify and solve problems which could occur in process of product creation and/or could lead to quality issue in production.
Deliver proposals for solving those issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently create garment prototypes, testing garments/equipment for research, mock-ups, samples in general and MTM products for Innovation design, Future research and project development.
- Be the capable contact person for product development, design and x-functional teams in terms of material based quality assurance and material analysis to optimize construction.
- Support and consult project managers and developers apparel adidas Innovation on topics like quality standards and workmanship solutions.
- Understanding of requirements for manufacturing processes in regards to physical material properties (especially in the area of bonding technology) and ability to differentiate between material types and quality.
- Identify and communicate and solve technical issues in regards to product/prototype creation (i.e. in regards to pattern, problems depending on material choice...) and work proactively towards solving those issues with a hands-on mentality.
- Be able to create and adjust basic pattern physically and digitally and to create new silhouettes through the draping technique and bring them into a digital format.
- Oversee the organization of fit sessions and conduct fittings to adjust pattern.
- Ability to handle all equipment that is needed for creation of prototypes/products which is not part of a standard operation process (i.e. sublimation printing, laser cutting) and provide file formats to enable those processes.
- Be instrumental in identifying new and upcoming manufacturing processes within the prototype creation process which leads to investment in new machinery, new tools or tuning and adapting of existing equipment and tools.
- Communicate with both external and internal partners as needed (ie. Machine vendors/repair; inline apparel and footwear sample shops, fabric and trim supplier).

- High knowledge of patternmaking, fabrics, materials, process and assembling related to garment engineering
- Very good knowledge and use of common industrial sewing machines
- Apprenticeship as tailor/dressmaker or industrial clothes manufacturer
- Min. 4 years of work experience in clothing manufacturing ideally in the area of sampling production
